After 16 incredible years, we have made the bittersweet decision to say goodbye to Pier 21 Marina. In October 2024, we sold this beloved property to focus our efforts and resources on expanding our self-storage portfolio, including our KeepSafe Storage facilities.
This wasn’t an easy decision for us. Pier 21 has been more than just a marina — it’s been a vibrant community for boating enthusiasts and a cornerstone of our portfolio. Since we acquired it in September 2012 and built it in 2014, we’ve worked tirelessly to maintain and improve its facilities, ensuring it remained a top-notch destination for everyone who visited.
What Made Pier 21 So Special
Pier 21 has always been about more than just mooring boats; it’s been about creating an unparalleled experience for our customers. Located in North Fremantle, just 3 kilometers from the ocean, the marina has provided easy access to the beautiful Swan River and beyond.
With 174 rentable mooring pens, clean and wide jetty access, reliable power supplies, and 24/7 secure parking, we’ve been proud to offer a space where boat owners could feel confident and at ease. Over the years, we’ve introduced significant upgrades to enhance the experience, from improved facilities to better security measures.
We are incredibly grateful to our loyal patrons and hardworking staff who have made Pier 21 the exceptional place it has been. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us.
Why the Change?
The sale of Pier 21 reflects a strategic shift in our focus. As part of the KBH Group, we’ve seen tremendous opportunities in the self-storage industry, particularly through our KeepSafe Storage facilities. With the growing demand for high-quality, customer-focused storage solutions, we believe this is where our expertise and resources can make the most significant impact moving forward.
This decision allows us to concentrate on what we do best: delivering innovative, secure, and convenient storage services to individuals and businesses. By reallocating our resources, we’re setting ourselves up for continued growth and success in this exciting industry.
